SURVEYS, ASSESSMENT OF SEISMIC SAFETY AND FEASIBILITY PROJECT OF SEISMIC IMPROVEMENT OF THE PAVILION 84 (VILLA PEPI) OF CAREGGI UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

The complex is made of 6 different buildings with different ages. The eldest, “Villa Pepi”, came out to be from the 1400’s while the others seem to be from the beginning of the 1900’s. The crafting methods used for the different varieties of element, like stone and clay blocks or concrete, are peculiar of the age they were built.

To estimate the consistency of each building, it was required to apply some researches kind of:

Said that, the whole frame has been crafted with analytical software, able to diagnose the risk level of field acceleration and the time span between multiple events in a row. After that, it has been possible to estimate the technical and economical capability, in terms of seismic behavior, of the adjustments and developments to do.

Then, the obtained data has been lent to Florence’s public authorities.
