FINAL PROJECT FOR THE SEISMIC ADAPTATION AND FIRE PREVENTION OF THE NURSERY SCHOOL IN STREET PAPA GIOVANNI XXIII

Historically from the 1970’s, the building has a skeleton made of steel box frames as pillar and armored concrete beam.

On the outer edge, it shows concrete precast panels laid on the ground, where, on top of them, it is possible to spot the holes, placed to host windows and doors.

The slabs are precast and made out of hollow clay blocks and clay-bottomed concrete beams.

The meaning of the project was to create a skeleton frame, able to resist its own wait only, due to the seismic area being introduced later on.

The whole structure has been crafted with analytical softwares, able to diagnose the risk level of field acceleration and the time span between multiple events in a row. After that, it has been possible to estimate the technical and economical capability, in terms of seismic behavior, of the adjustments and developments to do.
